Choosing a master password you won't forget
Thinkspan cannot reset your password, by design. That makes choosing the right one the most important step you will take.
Thinkspan cannot recover your password if you lose it, because we do not want the keys to your vault. Your master password unlocks AES-256 encryption on your device. We never see it and we never store it.
That design is what makes your data truly yours. It also means the responsibility for the key sits with you. A few simple habits make that easy to live with.
Use a long passphrase of several unrelated words rather than a short, complex string. Length beats complexity, and a passphrase is far easier to remember.
Commit it to memory, and keep a written copy somewhere genuinely safe, like a home safe or a trusted password manager you already use. Strong, unique, and unforgettable is the goal.
